Emergency and training use only

These instruments and any accompanying tables, scales, instructions, or software (the “Tool”) are provided solely for training, education, demonstration, and emergency backup. They are analog aids. They are not a substitute for proper navigation equipment, current official publications, or professional judgment.

Not a primary navigation system

Do not rely on the Tool as the sole means of determining position, course, heading, time, distance, speed, altitude, latitude, longitude, azimuth, bearing, slope, or any other navigational quantity. Use current, certified instruments and data appropriate to the activity.

Inherent limitations

Slide rules, sun compasses, gnomon methods, moon and celestial approximations, and similar analog methods are subject to manufacturing tolerance, wear, alignment error, user error, magnetic variation and deviation, refraction, Equation of Time and declination approximations, outdated or generalized tables, weather and terrain obstruction, and rounding. Results can be wrong by a margin that matters in the field. Always cross-check with independent methods when life, property, or legal compliance is at stake.

No certification

The Tool is not certified, type-approved, or warranted as marine, aviation, land-survey, or search-and-rescue equipment. It does not replace requirements of any maritime, aviation, military, or land-navigation standard or regulation.

Assumption of risk · no warranty

Navigation, wilderness travel, and emergency procedures involve risk of injury, death, property loss, and getting lost. By using the Tool you assume those risks. The Tool is provided “as is.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, there is no warranty of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose, including emergency survival or professional navigation. Instructions and examples are educational. They are not a navigation brief, voyage plan, flight plan, or legal, military, or safety certification.

Product variation

Emergency Navigation may change scales, markings, formulas, hardware, materials, dimensions, colors, included notes, and any other feature of the instruments at any time, including between production lots. Images, drawings, interactive views, manuals, and copy on this website are representative. They are not a specification of the instrument you will receive.

Refunds

Inspect NAVIGATOR on arrival. Contact us within 14 days of delivery if the instrument arrived damaged or is not what you ordered. Coming-soon products are not sold and cannot be refunded. Digital PDFs emailed with an order are not returnable once delivered. We do not refund change-of-mind after the disk has been used in the field.

Shipping

NAVIGATOR is fulfilled by hand from Southern California via USPS Ground unless you choose another rate at checkout. Coming-soon items (EVASION, NAUTICAL, BREES, printed field manual until released) are not shipped. We are not responsible for delays once the carrier has the package.

Privacy

We use your checkout name, address, and email to fulfill the order and email the field-manual PDF. We do not sell your list. Shopify and our payment processor also process data as described in their policies.
